Hi,
We tried to use SEAGATE ST9300653SS (firmware 0004) with RAID controller PERC 6/i (firmware 6.3.1-0003).
Got the following errors in logs:
8018 (boot + 49s/DRIVE/WARN) - PD 02(e0x20/s2) is not a certified drive
8021 (boot + 49s/DRIVE/WARN) - PD 03(e0x20/s3) is not a certified drive
At the same time looks like the HDD is compatible with Dell controllers, since I can see a firmware upgrade for the Segate HDD model available on Dell support WEB:
Release Date: | 5/18/2012 |
Importance: | Recommended |
Version: | YS08, A04 |
Could someone confirm, that this HDD firmware upgrade will help to make the HDD fully compatible with the RAID controller.
