SAS as hot spare for NL-SAS and/or vice versa on h310?

I couldn't find the answer to this by searching. Can a SAS drive be used as a hot spare for a NL-SAS drive on a PERC H310?

I'm guessing this might work with the SAS drive performing at the NL-SAS levels. Or this simply not possible?

And vice versa NL SAS as hot spare for SAS? (Yes, I must be off my rocker for thinking this. :D )
